Welcome!
Hello and welcome to Smile Eat Create!
If you’re wondering about the name, it’s a personal motto and mindset of mine - I believe in order to live a good life, there are 3 choices you need to make everyday:
Firstly to pursue happiness. Secondly, to eat nourishing and delicious food (which helps with the happiness part 😊) and thirdly, to create beautiful works, contributions and memories in life.
The name Smile Eat Create encompasses those 3 ideas.
And if you’re wondering about my name… it’s Claudia 😀
And on my blog you’ll find a range of amazing recipes and videos aimed at teaching you not only the skill, but the joy of cooking
’ve noticed there’s seems to be 2 BIG MYTHS floating around:
Home cooking is difficult, time-consuming, requires a great deal of skill and a whole, expensive grocery list of ingredients.
This is absolutely not true. There are so many easy recipes that you can make with just a handful of common ingredients (which you probably already have in your kitchen) and that can come together in a matter of minutes.
I specialise in recipes that are simple and quick to prepare but still healthy and so much more delicious than anything you can buy ready-made from the store or a take-out place. In fact, once you try some of my home cooked recipes, you’ll see that nothing else compares to the quality and flavour you can whip up in your own kitchen!
Healthy food tastes terrible and if you want to eat healthy you will have to sacrifice on flavour and give up on actually being able to enjoy your food 😂
Most definitely not true!
When you know to pair ingredients, what cooking methods best suit different types of produce as well as how to draw out and enhance the natural flavours of different fruits, vegetables, meats, herbs, spices and legumes, you’ll find that you can make some superbly delicious dishes that are incredibly healthy!
On the other hand…if you just grab a bunch of random ingredients that are nutrient-dense and try to chuck them together into a dish…you’ll end up with a meal that’s healthy but chances are it probably won’t taste very good. Recipe creation requires thoughtfulness and understanding. I do the work to come up with healthy meals that actually taste good, so you can simply cook them up and enjoy! :)
And please remember, when I say “eating healthy”, I don’t mean “eating extreme”. For the longest time I had wondered why so many people believed that healthy food didn’t taste good. I wondered how on Earth they could believe cheap take-out and heavily processed meals tasted better….but then I finally realised.
When most people hear the phrase “healthy food” they think of trendy fad diets, expensive superfoods, detoxes or a time in their life when they were taught to villianise all of their favourite flavours and restrict themselves to meals that cut any joy out of eating.
BUT EATING GOOD FOOD SHOULD BE JOYOUS! And we don’t have to limit ourselves. Because our relationship with food and flavour should be abundant and positive, not toxic, limiting or a source of shame. Food that’s good for you CAN actually be genuinely delicious!
Wondering where to start?
